67-year-old actor Kevin McNally, residing in Chiswick, faced arrest in Los Angeles on Friday, February 16th, following allegations of domestic violence.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) refrained from disclosing the accuser's identity, clarifying that it was not his spouse, Phyllis Logan.
As reported by the Sun newspaper, LAPD cited the arrest on suspicion of causing injury leading to a traumatic condition to a victim identified as his current or former spouse, cohabitant, or child's parent.
McNally's detention occurred just prior to his scheduled appearance at a Doctor Who fan convention at the Marriot Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Subsequently, he is slated to reappear in court in a month's time, with bail set at £40,000.
Internationally recognized for his portrayal of Joshamee Gibbs in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, McNally boasts a career in film and television spanning over four decades, including a notable role in Downton Abbey alongside his spouse.
McNally and his wife tied the knot in 2011, after his previous relationship with actor Stevie Harris, with whom he shares two adult children, came to an end in 1992.
