Costa Coffee is set to shutter its café on Chiswick High Road in February 2024, part of a broader plan that includes the closure of several branches across the country, including locations in Ellesmere Port, Wigan, Witney, Bingley, Worcester, Oakham, West Bridgford, and Malvern.
The coffee chain, with over 2,800 branches nationwide, has announced that the Chiswick closure is scheduled for February 6, 2024. A spokesperson for Costa Coffee expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and assured that all team members from the Chiswick branch would be redeployed to nearby stores.
Following this development, the nearest Costa Coffee option for Chiswick residents will be located on King's Street in Hammersmith. Coincidentally, the closure announcement aligns with the introduction of two new cafés in Chiswick during the same week.
Matchado, specializing in traditional Japanese tea, is opening at the former Good Boy Café site on Elliot Road, facing Chiswick Back Common. Simultaneously, Bronzo bistro is set to launch in the premises that previously housed Al Saggio, near the Roebuck pub on Chiswick High Road. After being vacant for several months, the property now showcases a new shop front, and Bronzo is actively seeking staff, advertising positions for baristas and servers.
