Loaf Furniture Expands with New Chiswick Store Opening

Loaf, a renowned British furniture retailer, has inaugurated its latest 'Shack' concept store in Chiswick, marking its fourth showroom in London and eleventh across the UK. The new store occupies the former Sofa Workshop site, which had remained vacant since March 2022.

The Chiswick store, located at the bustling junction of Turnham Green and Chiswick High Road, offers a diverse range of products, including sofas, beds, cabinetry, and homeware. Customers can explore a swatch area featuring over 150 fabric options with whimsical names like 'Mint Choc Chip' and 'Pressed Olives'. The store also provides a unique shopping experience with a 'play table' by a fireplace, inviting customers to relax with a hot chocolate while making design decisions. Additionally, the store caters to families and pet owners with a dedicated Kids table and a Dog Bar offering refreshments for canine companions.

Loaf's journey began in 2008 when Charlie Marshall founded the company under the name The Sleep Room. Inspired by a frustrating bed-shopping experience, Marshall aimed to simplify the furniture buying process. The brand quickly gained a reputation for comfort, with its handmade sofas and upholstered beds crafted in Long Eaton, Derbyshire. In 2012, the company rebranded as Loaf to reflect its expanded product range.

In 2021, Loaf attracted significant investment from Blue Coast Capital, the investment arm of the Lewis family, founders of River Island. This investment marked a pivotal moment for the company, enabling further expansion and innovation. In February 2022, Loaf appointed Sam Perkins as CEO, bringing his expertise from leading the fashion brand In The Style.
