On Thursday (21 December), Chiswick police reported the apprehension of a man suspected of carrying a knife, engaging in drug dealing, and assaulting a police officer. A combination of plainclothes and uniformed officers conducted patrols in the vicinity of Hogarth Lane and Eastbury Grove, near the Hogarth Roundabout.
The arrested individual was discovered in possession of 100 wraps of cocaine and heroin, indicative of an intent to supply charge. A few days earlier, there were reports of a significant number of individuals being escorted from the former Tesla showroom located on the north side of the roundabout.
In September, it is believed that the police raided a residence on Eastbury Grove, resulting in the charging of a man with possession with intent to supply. In response to increased reports from local residents about drug dealing on the street and the recent deaths of two women in Chiswick suspected to be habitual drug users, the police have systematically gathered evidence and conducted 'fast-time investigations' through Response Officers.
To address the issue, the police have also intensified foot patrols in areas where drug dealing activities have been reported.
